Hello, I’m Ali (Alistair), a psychotherapist providing private one-to-one and couples therapy in Central and East London: Fitzrovia and Shoreditch. I also work via Skype and over the phone.
Psychotherapy is a non-judgemental and safe environment for you to talk about anything you want to. Whatever you are going through, I can help you make better sense of yourself, supporting you to make the changes you are looking for to live your life more the way you want to.
Outside of private practice I work in an NHS cancer support service. My training is grounded in Existential Psychotherapy, which, along with an undergraduate in philosophy provides me with a philosophical outlook on life and the inevitable struggles within it. I am also in the final stages of completing my doctoral thesis researching into experiences of ex-military personnel returning to civilian life.
Working across this scope has given me experience of a broad range of people and issues and I am particularly well equipped in supporting people through anxiety issues, stress, bereavement, crisis of values/beliefs, low/depressive mood, low self-esteem, panic attacks and relationship issues.
I work from as few as six weekly sessions up to a period of years, meaning we can tailor our time to meet your needs, whether short or long-term. I am available in the daytime as well as in the evening to accommodate normal working hours. While I have experience of working with children and young people I currently work exclusively with adults.
I am a UKCP & SEA registered member and I work in accordance with the UKCP policies and procedures as well as having a strong sense of my own personal ethics.
